About Us

CAD is dedicated to defending dignity and eradicating poverty through the delivery of emergency relief and long-term development assistance to a range of impoverished communities across South Sudan. CAD enables lasting change by strengthening the capacity of communities and households through social, civil, and economic opportunities, delivering relief in emergencies, influencing policy decisions, and addressing discrimination.
We work collaboratively through our filed offices. Since 2023 CAD has additionally started to give a special focus on climate change action and ecosystem health. Underpinning all of CAD’s work is a strong organizational mission and vision that seeks to serve individuals and families affected by crisis, poverty, climate change in South Sudan. Drawing strength from the activities own diversity, resources and experience, CAD promotes innovative solutions and advocates for responsibility in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable.

To achieve its organizational mission CAD promotes lasting change by:
Strengthening capacity for self-help
Delivering relief in emergencies
Influencing policy decisions at all levels,
Integrating climate change action, and Addressing discrimination in all its forms.
Providing economic opportunity.

Guided by the aspirations of local communities, CAD pursues its mission with both excellence and compassion always mindful to respect those CAD serves, and deliver integrated and holistic programs that maximise impact. CAD builds resilience and skills at individual, household, community, and respective governmental institutions levels –e.g. Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender, etc. The children, youth, young adult, adults and elderly are provided with the tools and knowledge to protect themselves, their peers, siblings, friends and neighbours, fostering an improved longer-term environment in the community as they mature and become caregivers themselves in socio economic and governance sectors. CAD understands that achieving sustainable community development requires systemic change in many traditional behaviours and local community policies and laws, as well as a long-term investment in individuals, families and community-based organizations. Simultaneously CAD recognizes that these change agents that are being capacitated have immediate needs that must be met in order to produce healthy outcomes. On the way to achieving long-term, sustainable objectives, CAD commits human, programmatic, in –kind and financial resources right from the start and continues to work alongside the target populations throughout the cooperative engagement. CAD seeks their commitment in return; progress requires an equal understanding and application of the partnership during the engagement and sustained hard work from both CAD, and men, women, boys and girls throughout the process.
